Response to a multi-issue audit report
Question to be resolved
A public-sector institution needed to prepare its position on an audit report that combined findings concerning different transactions and documents. The underlying records were held in several sources, some amounts and percentages required recalculation, and the auditors’ conclusions did not always clearly distinguish alleged actual losses, documentary deficiencies and contractor conduct.
Vladislav’s work
Vladislav Naganov divided the report into separate issues and compared each of them with the underlying records. He checked the logic and arithmetic of the disputed calculations, identified discrepancies and separated observations concerning the facts, documentary formalities and the conduct of different participants.
After reconciling the materials, he developed the institution’s overall position and prepared arguments on each material issue, linking them to the relevant records and calculations.
Where a particular issue required a procurement, technical or other specialist assessment, the underlying points were reviewed with the relevant specialists and Vladislav incorporated their conclusions into the overall structure of the position.

Additional appeal submissions in an employment dispute
Question to be resolved
The judgment addressed several connected matters: disciplinary records, termination and reinstatement, bonuses, salary and calculations covering an extended period. The court’s findings had to be compared with the evidence and earlier objections, the orders and amounts had to be checked, and the arguments requiring further development had to be identified.
Vladislav’s work
Vladislav compared each material finding in the judgment with the case file. He reviewed the disciplinary records, the grounds for payments and the arithmetic of the calculations, and identified procedural and financial issues requiring further explanation.
He refined the legal arguments in light of the established circumstances and linked the disputed amounts to the underlying data from which they could be independently checked.

Materials for a court of cassation in insolvency proceedings
Question to be resolved
A dispute over the sale of property affected the interests of both debtor and creditor, the status of the debtor’s only home, the terms of the sale procedure and expenses of the insolvency estate. By the cassation stage, the case already involved several judgments and appeals, while certain arguments required clarification and alignment.
Vladislav’s work
Vladislav compared the judgments, appeals and the participants’ positions, identified inconsistencies in the arguments and separated the issues concerning the status of the property, the sale procedure, expenses and potential consequences for debtor and creditor.
On that basis, he refined the written position for the cassation stage and removed contradictions between its individual arguments.

Written explanations and a response for the court of cassation, distinguishing the participants’ interests and the potential consequences of the disputed procedure.
Procurement of services and a digital archive
Aligning procurement scope, price and acceptance
Question to be resolved
A public-sector institution needed to procure individual services without a standing subscription fee, prevent duplicate payment for overlapping work and verify the result of every assignment against criteria defined in advance. At the same time, it was considering a structured digital archive in which documents could be linked to particular assignments and deliverables.
Vladislav’s work
Vladislav divided the underlying requirement into individual categories of work and defined the deliverable for each category. For every assignment, he linked the scope, actions, price calculation, supporting documents and acceptance procedure. He also described working registers and requirements for the classification, search and storage of materials in a future digital archive.
His personal role was to align the legal, contractual and organisational parts of the model. Financial and specialist source data were developed with the relevant specialists. Software development was not part of this assignment.
Materials prepared
A draft service catalogue, rules for issuing individual assignments, deliverable and acceptance criteria, assignment, report and acceptance templates, working registers, requirements for the digital archive and a plan for further digitisation.
IT projects and technical documentation
Aligning contracts, requirements and acceptance in IT projects
Question to be resolved
Several software projects differed in their stages, pricing, rights in deliverables and acceptance documents. The contracts and technical specifications had to be aligned with the work actually performed, and each stage had to specify what the project team was required to do, what would be delivered to the customer and how it would be verified.
Vladislav’s work
Vladislav aligned contractual terms, technical specifications, delivery schedules and acceptance certificates. He refined descriptions of development deliverables, data scope, user roles, access rights and the transfer of rights in resulting materials. Together with customers and technology teams, he also developed requirements for data migration and reconciliation, testing, acceptance and user documentation.
In individual projects, software developers and other specialists performed data migration, prepared a 1C:Payroll and HR Management system for operational use and produced user instructions. Vladislav linked those activities to the contractual stages and acceptance records.

Contracts and amendments, technical specifications, descriptions of stages and deliverables, provisions on rights in software and data, reporting templates, acceptance certificates and materials for verification and acceptance. User documentation was prepared jointly with the specialists responsible for the technical substance of the systems.
Documentation for the application and presentation of a construction material
Question to be resolved
A specialised construction material required a consistent description of its two-stage application, identification of the safety information required for its components and a structured presentation of the product range.
Vladislav’s work
The technical characteristics and method of application were determined by subject-matter specialists. Vladislav reviewed process sheets for gaps and contradictions, framed questions on the discrepancies identified and prepared correspondence with the technical specialists.
He also identified which information and documents were needed to substantiate component safety and which materials belonged in the product description, contributed to structuring the product range and prepared naming and description options.

Draft letters on technical questions, a schedule of required safety evidence and documents, a structure for the product information package and naming proposals. Testing, verification of characteristics and certification remained within the remit of authorised specialists and organisations.
Charitable and international projects
Requirements for a website, CRM and donation accounting
Question to be resolved
A charitable project needed to connect its website, donation processing, CRM, attribution of incoming funds, public reporting, content production and the responsibilities of participants. Before technical launch, the dependencies between these processes and responsibility for each decision had to be defined.
Vladislav’s work
Vladislav described the contractual relationships and allocation of responsibilities between the organisers, technical suppliers and organisations involved in donation processing. He formulated requirements for receiving and recording donations, transferring information to the CRM, attributing the sources of funds, public reporting and publication of materials on the website.
He separately prepared questions for software developers and organisations providing payment services. Website development, CRM configuration and connection of payment services were outside the scope of this work.

A description of the contractual relationships and allocation of responsibilities, requirements for donation processing and accounting, CRM operation, public reporting and website content, and a plan for preparing the project for launch.
Preliminary materials for an energy project in Kazakhstan
Question to be resolved
At an early stage of an infrastructure project, questions concerning the special economic zone regime, land restrictions, the authority of proposed participants and the expectations of potential investors had to be organised. Some circumstances required further verification under the law and practice of Kazakhstan.
Vladislav’s work
Vladislav conducted a preliminary review of the available project documents and information. He separated verified information from working assumptions, identified questions for subsequent legal, technical and financial review, and determined which materials were needed for substantive negotiations.
For the next stage, he prepared a bilingual memorandum, a draft power of attorney and recommendations for an investment presentation and negotiations.

The materials were preliminary, did not replace advice from specialists in Kazakhstan law and did not mean that financing had been secured, a project company established or the facility developed.
What these examples have in common
In all eight matters, Vladislav first established which circumstances were supported, where the documents or calculations diverged and which decision had to be made. He then compared the legal conditions, facts, figures and actions of the participants, identified missing information and prepared the documents required for the next stage.
The scope depended on the assignment. Sometimes it was necessary to check a calculation and supplement a single procedural document. In other cases, contracts, assignments, the actions of a technology team and the acceptance procedure had to be aligned.
